Strictly for Mums!
As busy Mums who are also starting up or running our own businesses, we don’t always have the time to search for the information or resources we need, or travel to meet up with like-minded people for support while our family stays behind at home, and it can sometimes feel a bit lonely.
Many of us have been very successful in our corporate jobs, but the challenge of starting up a new business single-handed, and from scratch, requires a broad spectrum of knowledge and experience in areas different from our existing corporate expertise and we can start to quickly feel out of our comfort zone or overwhelmed faced with such a steep learning curve. It’s one thing to be brilliant at what we do, but turning our ‘gift’ in to a healthy, thriving business is another kettle of fish all together.
Yes, there are more and more women deciding to take the plunge and start their own business, and 2014 is most certainly a great year to be hailed as the year of the entrepreneur, but starting and running a business is not always as simple as it sounds, and many new businesses fail to get off the ground or survive beyond a few years, their owners so easily falling prey to the ‘business skills gap’ or the common mistakes it’s so easy to make.
But let’s focus on the positive, there are so many wonderful advantages of running your own business, especially if you have children. As your own boss, you have so much choice, flexibility and control around where you work, what you do and the hours you work. Just as importantly, is the fact you get to really pursue what you love doing, to do something that really gives you a sense of purpose and fulfilment.
So you know you have a skill, a talent, a real gift, and you love the idea of making a difference doing what you love and making really good money doing it, whilst carving out an idyllic lifestyle for you and your family.
Whether you’ve just decided to start your own business, or whether you are looking to grow your existing business, you are in the right place!
